Thank You

As the semester comes to a close, and the year comes to an end- I just want to say thank you.

To anyone who has supported me in literally any way, financially, through prayer, by letting me vent to you, I mean literally any way, this one is for you.

If you caught me last year at this time and told me how the next year would pan out for me- I would have laughed at you. Don’t get me wrong, I would have thought the idea was really dope- but moving to a new country where I don’t speak the language, I would have to fundraise my entire salary, and I would know approximately one person- ain’t no way.

Nevertheless God kept opening doors, and here I am, about to return to the states for the first time since being here- and I am so thankful for it all.

Thank You (continued)

Honestly, life has been hard. But one of the coolest moments for me was getting to see why I am supposed to be here.

For example, the first day of school was one of the most overwhelming days in my teaching career. I went home that day, looked at my roommate and said what the heck did I just sign myself up for.

Seriously, how the heck am I going to do this. But life takes time and the impact that I have been able to have on these kids in these few months, makes it all make sense.

I love being able to disciple my students through their life stuff. I love being able to look out for them. I love being able to pray with and for them. I love leading a small group for the middle school and being welcomed with open arms literally every time they see me. I love being able to offer them a strong education- even if the rigor makes them super frustrated with me at times. I love looking back on my tests and being so proud of the work that they accomplished, especially when they thought they couldn’t do it. I love being able to help them prepare for college and give them advice as they seek it.

Mostly I just love being able to help kids. And I wouldn’t have been able to do it in this capacity or in this place or help these kiddos without you all.

So, thank you for investing in me and my ministry. Thank you for believing in what I do, that you would choose to support it and be apart of it with me. I have had such a fun adventure this semester, and I am so grateful for all of it- even the hard parts.

&until the next one,

Merry Christmas and happy new year.
